"We had been thinking for some time of having some professional photos taken of our newborn son, and by chance came across some work on display by KLK Photography at Heaven Nutfield. Immediately, I wanted to talk to Kate about creating some similar work for my family. I especially liked the natural style that she has, which really comes through in her photos. "Kate came to our house to take photo's of our newborn with her big sister (a temperamental 2yr old) and was brilliant with both kids and with us! I was disappointed as it was raining that day and I was doubtful Kate would get any shots that would be any good but I was blown away at the variety of lovely photo's that she produced, almost effortlessly it seemed. Very natural and relaxed, professional and fun. The ones of the girls together are favourites especially the one where our eldest is looking directly at you and there's so much going on behind her eyes. She looks calm, serene, yet thoughtful and pensive. Also the lovely shots of her smiling which are so hard to capture as she usually does the classic toddler grimace. Kate arrived early and spent the morning with us, taking photos in our garden and out on a local walk. "The task was to get a few decent outdoor shots of myself - not an easy job as I absolutely hate being on the wrong side of the camera. Kate came exceptionally well prepared, with sketches presenting her ideas for the scene, which helped a lot. We had a look around for a suitable location where the light was right, and Kate didn't mind climbing fences and getting her clothes wet. She even made me feel comfortable in front of the camera!
